Preparations

E-mail Print PDF

A trip of this kind takes a serious amount of preperation, if you are planning a similar trip do not think that it will all fall into place over a couple of months!

Anyone that has taken a car to France for example will know there are a few things you need to do, make sure the car is serviced, make sure you have the correct insurance, book ferries and have some kind of breakdown cover.  The things that need to be done to take a car to Africa are broadly similar - just that it will take more than a call to sort it all out, and you will not be able to rely on the AA or RAC if you breakdown.

The vehicle will also be our home, not just for a few weeks, but for around 9 months!

Add all of this to the fact that we want to raise money for charity and do the trip on some kind of budget means that it is quite an undertaking!

Below are some of the process that we have gone through; (Click on the images to find out more)
