OverlandintheSun - London to Cape Town

E-mail Print PDF

On October 11 2009 a Gwyn, Ryan and Shaun will leave Marble Arch London driving to Cape Town, raising money for SolarAid - a charity that fights global poverty and climate change with solar power.  We will be visiting all the SolarAid projects (with a few other solar projects) along the route transferring knowledge between them.

Aptly the 1989 Toyota Landcruiser that we are using is partially powered by solar technology.

The trip itself will contribute less to climate change than are normal daily lives in the UK as we learn from different ways of life.

Travelling overland the perfect way to see the unique geography, history and culture all the way from Europe to Africa - why fly when you can turn the journey into a Safari
We will be updating this website (and various other networks) along the journey so you will be able to follow us as we meet new people / eat new foods / see wonders of the world / get stuck in the sand / issues with boarders...
